BODY DREAMING RESIDENCY May 2022, CABOOLTURE HUB

Thanks to Moreton Bay Council, through a RADF grant, I was able to spend a couple of days in residency with visual artist Rachel Apelt during May 2022.
We wanted to understand how our practices – performance and visual arts – can intersect and work together to create new work.
It was a glorious time together. We connected with artists in residence at the Caboolture Hub, who sat in and observed our practice and chatted with us. We had people passing through and dropping in.
We found the visually appealing nature of live drawing and dancing very accessible to people. They were curious! They wanted to observe and experience what we were doing. These interactions informed how we shaped what we were doing and thought about creating work.
Thanks to this time spent together, Rachel and I, along with performer Zaimon Vilmanis and visual artist Marisa Georgiou, were able to share our way of working together during The Anywhere Festival 2022.
Here is a visual diary, through the form of social media stories, of our time spent together.
